It’s been a while

It’s been a while since I last updated this thing. Back in high school when I kept an online journal, I found myself updating it almost every day (often multiple times in a day). It feels different updating a website, though I’m sure part of it is just that not much is going on right now in terms of my trip – except waiting. My netbook and last few supplies should be here in a day or two, and then I’ll throw up a”What Am I Bringing?” post in case anyone is curious.

It’s now close enough to departure that I’m starting to feel the need to maximize my time left in Boston. As I said earlier, there are a lot of events going on this month – these last two weeks in particular – and for some reason I decided to start scheming of ways to add a double century (200 mile) bike ride to the mix. I’m not sure this is such a good idea given how little I’ve been riding this month, but it feels like an appropriately epic note to end on. Weather permitting, a friend and I are aiming to ride on my last Sunday in town, perhaps through Vermont. This will give me two full days to recover before heading to NYC and then onto Israel.

At this point I have less than two weeks left of work. Thursday afternoon one of the departments I work with treated me to a goodbye lunch of homemade food at a coworker’s house. The weather the perfect and the food was great (the cake I made tasted good even if it was a crumbly mess). Friday we decided on the person who will be replacing me, so this week will likely be spent working with HR on getting her hired and then most of my last will be training her in the position (on top of wrapping up loose ends and performing all my regular duties).

In the meantime, it’s just business as usual. I’ll update if anything changes.
